I am going to help a friend prune his pomegranate trees. Late winter is a great time of year to prune your pomegranates before they leaf out.
If you keep a pomegranate plant for the fruit, you should not turn your bush into a tree. Heavy pruning of a pomegranate bush into a tree will result in less fruit production.
